Matthew Billet

Postdoctoral Researcher, University of California, Irvine

Matthew is a social psychologist interested in how we adapt to our social and physical environments. Matthew’s research examines how the tools of human cognition and culture help us in this task (and why they sometimes fail to help us). The methods Matthew most often uses are behavioural experiments, cross-cultural surveys, and natural language processing.

Matthew is currently a postdoc in the Department of Psychology at the University of California, Irvine, and received a PhD in Social and Personality Psychology at the University of British Columbia, Canada, supervised by Ara Norenzayan and Mark Schaller.
